Beech Hill Farm in Pleasantville offers lessons on the paths of nearby Rockefeller State Park Preserve. Intermediate and advanced riders can enjoy the park's woods, ridges, ponds and river views on broad, well-maintained carriage trails as a Beech Hill instructor critiques their technique and offers advice.

Miles of horseback riding trails are open to the public in county and state parks throughout the region; literally hundreds of miles of additional trails are maintained by equestrian associations and are open to their members for an annual fee.

Rockefeller has about 55 miles of riding trails open to the public. Other public B.Y.O.H. (bring your own horse) areas include Twin Lakes Park, Blue Mountain Reservation, Saxon Woods County Park and the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation.
